§ Monthly Meetings At A Local Watering Hole?
Discussion Points included:

Just a friendly gathering, discuss some business, etc.
Would provide us with some "thing" that folk could see and latch onto.
Set it with a rigid repeating date or something more flexible?
Are there any nights of the week that are inherently bad for people (e.g. Church, Bingo, Walking Stewart Ave.)
A firm date would be easier to "recruit" for; give people something to plan around, put on their calendars.

The Monthly Gatherings of the Iota Alumni Association Will Be Held
Every Third Tuesday at 7:00pm at Restaurants To Be Determined.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, September 17th, 2002, at 7:00pm at HUEY'S
PLEASE NOTE: While future meetings will be open to Alumni & Actives alike, the first meeting will be Alumni Only.

§ Webstuff: We need to develop...
Discussion Points included:

Did it survive the Harmony theft? (yes, but it's siginificantly out of date.)
It needs lots of flash & pizzaz...something more substantial than it's first incarnation.

On-Line Registration Is In Development.

Return Secretarial & Treasurer pages lost during the theft.

We should appoint a webmaster or at least someone in charge of development with others adding content.
Web Coordinator will be discussed and/or assigned at the first meeting...err...social gathering.

§ Recruiting Efforts?
Discussion Points included:

We need to increase the efforts.
Jessi will coordinate (Collect Information, Talk to Alumni Secretary behave!, etc.)
On-Line registration form in the works. We can send interested parties to the website & Jessi.
It was noted that sending people to Troy, NY to sign up might put a few people off...
With the On-Line registration, could we implement a paypal account and let them pay that way rather than mailing a check?
Paypal invloves a transaction fee per use, but we could include that in the On-Line Dues as a convenience fee of sorts.
Paypal option will be explored.
Generate a one page flyer to hand out at football games? (Fireball would like it by Homecoming at the latest.)

§ Next Formal Meeting?
Discussion ensues...:

Spring? Fall?
If we hold it in conjunction with Homecoming we risk meeting burnout.
(Side Bar...IAA BOT Meetings On-Line Monthly how else do you get the Tri-State Board together at one time?)
Further discussion tabled until a later date...if we only need 10 minutes for a general session we can hold it at homecoming..."Iota Alumni Association meet me on the 50 right after announcments!"

§ Initiate Registration?
Discussion ensues...:

It has been discussed that we convert the Scholarship to pay for or contribute towards initiate registration fees.
It would help the poor unsuspecting college students to cover unexpected costs.
It would be a great way to get the IAA name out early and often and provide them with a sense that service & music don't have to stop just because college did...
Based on our current budget, how much would we feel comfortable contributing each semester this month?
Suggestions, Denials, Rebukes, i.5 Alternative Beverages, Phone Calls, and Fists waved at ISPs reduce the civilized discussion to a decision of $100.00 per semester this year. The impact felt by the prospective candidates will fluctuate depending upon total numbers, but the contribution will be noticed.

§ Miscillaneous Topics Entertained At Varying Times.

Could alumni donate parts/cash for Harmony v1.2? (Perhaps a pass the hat affair?)
7:00 am breakfasts with the boss means no more late night meeting...for now...
Losing one's stuff in Alabama or North Carolina really makes for an empty kitchen, but it keeps you from falling out of bed after i.5 beverages..
